No one knew her story... no one knew her name... except for the twenty or so neighbors and family around her.
They couldn't feed her. Her mom's grave was being dug right beside the hut she cried and slept in. Goat milk? Tea? What do you give a newborn when her mother's milk is gone right along with her?
Medical care too far away... and costing too much money.
This sounded like a recipe for disaster.
How much Jesus loves to take a life the world thinks is heading for disaster and turn it around to shine his glory.
Two weeks ago Esther got very sick.
Friends ran around town trying to find her blood...
She dominated Facebook statuses...
Skype accounts were drained as people phoned back and forth...
People a world away who have never met her woke up in the middle of night to pray for her...
A youth group who heard her story moments before got together and prayed...
Tears fell as people that loved her grew anxious and frustrated...
Medical bills were payed... prayers were prayed... kind words were spoken...
This baby born in a village in Uganda had people all over the world praying for her. People who have never met her... but really want to now :)
I just can't even comprehend all of this. I am overflowing with thankfulness for everyone that helped save Esther's life two weeks ago. I can't believe how God has used her life and her story to bring Him glory... and i'm so excited to see what else He has in store for her and her family.
And so excited God's bringing me along for the ride :)
